Gita Shankardass studied in Mumbai where she did her BA in English Literature and French and then a course in Journalism and Advertising.
Over the years she has supported and worked extensively for many fund raising events in aid of the Consortium for Street Children and other charities. She compiled the brochure for ‘By The Five Rivers ’an event done for the Sikh Exhibition at the Victoria & Albert Museum in 1998. For the same publication she interviewed and wrote about MF Husain, the painter. She also created the brochure for the Jewels of the East exhibition in 1994. She has freelanced for various magazines interviewing and writing about celebrities.
She helped in the launch of the Memorial Gates built in London in commemoration of the contribution made by the men and women from the Indian Sub-Continent, Africa and the Caribbean during the two World Wars. Recently she worked for the Graffiti Ball – once again in aid of the Street Children.
